Volunteers Support & Study – November 2010
Lynda Burr facilitated a workshop titled 'Hidden Harm. This topic was concerning the effects on family life and the children affected by their parent's substance/drug/alcohol misuse.

Preparation Course – Feb/Mar/April 2011
The preparation course ran for 6 weeks, whereby 11 prospective volunteers attended, and consequently matched with a family.

Volunteers Support & Study – June 2011
David Rains MBE facilitated the Volunteers Support & Study day covering the topic 'Lone Families' that was attended by several Volunteers. Many of us are involved with, or know of, Lone Families and the situations that can arise and this was an interesting topic.

Volunteers Summer Trip – June 2011
To say 'thank you' for all their time and hard work that the Volunteers give to Home-Start, they were taken on an outing through the Romney Marsh in Kent. They travelled on the little Steam Train from Hythe, and had lunch in the pub at the end of the journey, before taking the train back to Hythe. The weather could have been a little kinder but it did not interfere with the day, and was thoroughly enjoyed by all that were able to go.

Families Summer Trip – June 2011
The families were taken by coach to Wingham Wildlife Bird Park in Kent. The children and parents had a great day out. And all went home tired, but very happy.

Preparation Course – Sep/Oct 2011
The preparation course ran for 6 weeks, with 7 prospective volunteers attending.

Annual General Meeting – October 2011
We had a great attendance of representatives of our funders and referrers alike, and also Volunteers. Guest speaker – Debee Beale from the Dover,Deal & Sandwich Children Centres spoke on the advantages of good partnership working.
